CH 2 Blondie: The cartoon strip Blondie is an American comic strip created by cartoonist Chic Young. It is distributed by King Features Syndicate, A Unit of Hearst Corporation, 300 W. 57th St. New York, NY 10019, the strip has been published in newspapers since September 8, 1930. Chic Young drew Blondie until his death in 1973, when creative control passed to his son Dean Young, who continues to write the strip. Young has collaborated several artists on Blondie, including Mike Gersher, Jim Raymond, Stan Drake, Denis Lebrun and currently, John Marshall. The Rock music band of the 1970’s & 80’s Blondie is an American band, founded by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein., Chrysalis Group plc, The Chrysalis Building, Bramley Road, London W10 6SP (Neither the cartoon strip, or the band has any connection to this book. It is pure coincidence that citizens living in The Vista dubbed Susan “Officer Blondie” while she was an officer patrolling this neighborhood.)

CH 15 The Incredible Hulk: A fictional character that appeared in comic books published by Marvel Comics and originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Marvel Entertainment, LLC, 417 Fifth Avenue, Mezzanine, New York, NY 10016. The Hulk character was later used in other media, a live action TV series, six television movies, three animated TV series, two theatrically released movies, and various video games. A comprehensive list of all studios, artists, directors, etc involved in all of these productions can easily be found on the Internet Movie Database.

CH 25 Kermit the Frog: is a fictional character created by Jim Henson’s Muppets, copyrighted and a registered trademark of The Jim Henson Company, 1416 North LaBrea Ave., Hollywood, CA 90028

CH 39 Keystone Kops: are featured in a series of silent film comedies about a completely incompetent group of policemen. The movies were produced by Mack Sennett for his Keystone Film Company between 1912 and 1917. After an exhaustive search we believe that these films remain “in the public domain” and that no one has re-copyrighted these films up to the printing time of this book.

CH 40 A rose by any other name: Paraphrased from William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. To our knowledge, no one has re-copyrighted the works of William Shakespeare.

CH 51 Carson Productions: is a television production company established by Johnny Carson in the early 1980s mainly to produce The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson from 1980 to 1992, 4119 W Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton, CA 92833. The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson aired on NBC (30 Rockefeller Plz, New York, NY 10020, now NBCUNIVERSAL , COMCAST, 1500 Market St FL 33e, Philadelphia, PA 19102). We are uncertain if Carson Productions or NBC actually trademarked the phrase “You can’t make up stuff like this” but he did say it frequently on NBC’s Tonight Show.

CH 70 The Pink Panther: is a series of comedy films, cartoon shorts, and a Saturday morning cartoon series that can all be traced back to director and co-writer Blake Edwards, with the music composed by Henry Mancini starting in 1963. A comprehensive list of all studios, artists, directors, etc involved in all of these productions can easily be found on the Internet Movie Database.

CH 114 Miami Vice: a U.S. TV series produced by Michael Mann for NBC (30 Rockefeller Plz, New York, NY 10020, now NBCUNIVERSAL , COMCAST, 1500 Market St FL 33e, Philadelphia, PA 19102) from 1984–1989. In 2006 there was also a theatrical released movie with the same name directed by Michael Mann from Universal Pictures, , 100 Universal City Plaza Universal City, CA 91608, (now NBCUNIVERSAL, COMCAST, now NBCUNIVERSAL , COMCAST, 1500 Market St FL 33e, Philadelphia, PA 19102 .) Miami Mice was a parody of parody of Miami Vice created by Jim Henson’s Muppets, copyrighted and a registered trademark of The Jim Henson Company, 1416 North LaBrea Ave., Hollywood, CA 90028. Also, there is a Miami Mice Research Inc., which is a biotechnology company that has proprietary mouse models for use in identifying and developing early markers of cancer.
